The Upsilon Sigma Phi is the oldest Greek-letter fraternity in Asia and oldest organization in the University of the Philippines. Established in 1918 by students and professors of UP, the fraternity was formally organized on November 19, 1920. The fraternity adopted the Greek letters “ΥΣΦ” in March 1921, which stands for “University Students Fraternity”. Since its inception, the Upsilon has produced numerous luminaries in various fields such as presidents, business leaders, national artists and scientists, and renowned legal and medical practitioners, to name a few.
